Our Love

Our love is a summer storm
You're thunder I'm lightning
Yet we are so far apart
Counting the heartbeats
Counting how many miles
Lie between our stormy hearts

An Apple a Day

losing control
don't really care
looking for a hero
but no one's there
no one to talk to
no one to share
life is a sentence
scream and shout
love's a pretence
what's that about
empty inside
outside is scary
no place to hide
becoming wary
hating this ride
death's a carnival
that's what they say
swallow the pill
live for today
it's a bitter sweet
goes down a treat
not to mention
the side effects
of life's extension
as time defects

Spreading The Love

Spreading the love
of dandelions
(you know you want to)
delicious salad
and root tea :)
not a weed after all!
Happy Earth Day...

Once Loved

sleep with your dreams
as good as that seems
you wake up with reality
lured into false security
it's a certain fatality
how could it be wrong
leaving it all behind
feeling you belong
true love is hard to find
isn't it amazing
till death us do part
or someone steals your heart
well, what about me
liar, you're such a liar
the love that used to be
the want, the desire
forgotten and gone
while you move on
while she sulks 'cos she's
the other woman
while you're half the man
you used to be
what about me

Secret love

Through the sliding shades of grays
between dreams and reality
do you think of me?
Through the kaleidoscope of days
between the dawns and the sunsets
do you dream of me?
Through the rustle of falling leaves
swept up by the restless wind
do you call my name?
Through the misty haze of nights
between twilight and darkness
do you seek me there?
Me, your secret love

Your Love

Your tender touch is like the falling rain upon my skin
Your kisses are sweet like honey warmed by the sun
Your breath upon my cheek is like a warm summer night
Your whispers surround me like gentle doves in flight
Your warm embrace is my shelter from the raging storm
Your love glows all around me like the soft light of dawn

The Rainbow Bridge

Where time and tide at sea are lost
And where the four wild winds lay crossed
She reaps the winds that storms do sow
And weaves the waves that ebb and flow
With fisher men's nets she catches soft sighs
And wishes and prayers from pale blue skies
She stitches and sews them with tidy seams
Her beautiful tapestries of sweet dreams
She gathers up sea spray to sprinkle as dew
Collecting bright colours of vivid hue
She makes an arc of ribbon above her
A bright rainbow bridge to guide her lover
And to make the stars that twinkle and shine
She saves all the tears she's cried over time

Love You Hate You

I love you I hate you
Is this how it's meant to be?
I didn't write the book
on love
So I don't have a clue
I could forget the fairytale
I could give up the fight,
even mend my wicked ways,
let you mould me as you may
Pretending that's alright!
But when hate is gone
what fire would ignite
my passion then
make everything alright?
Without love's delusion
what would be the glue then
to mend my fickle heart?
When it breaks in two then
When my world falls apart.....
I love you I hate you

This should be the final lines of this piece.

Cathedral of Dreams

Summoned by the light
I follow in the shadow
Of the moon
By the basilica
Rise and fall,
Dip swoop,
Bats into the twilight.
I enter the cathedral
Of dreams.
The flagstones
Soothe my bloody feet.
The walls,
Hung with scrolls,
Of the dead
Of the dying
Of the living
Rise to a steeple
Too high to read
Yet I know
I am not among
The named
Nor of the dead
Nor of the dying
Nor of the living.
My weary eyes,
Blind with the light,
Are shut tight.
I hear myself scream
And know
I am named
On the scrolls
Of the unborn.
