Tiny Jewels

ragged thorns
penetrate skin
dew and tears
tiny jewels
drop
tempering
blood
imbued with
melancholy
clenched fists
tighten round
the roses
while pain
dances
through
the blur
of spiralling
colour

Embers

he bears his passion
to the winds who sow
the smouldering embers
embedding their spores
into celestial wombs

in the wake of his fervour
lustrous constellations
are born
bearing witness
to love

Tainted Sky

i guess
there will be
no tears
in heaven
just
a moon
and
stars
wounding
a
tainted
sky

These shots were taken on the 19th December 2010.  I was enthralled by the colour of the clouds as they passed over the moon.

Yesterday

ravenous starlings
descend to devour bread
still feeding the birds

And after the snow we were rewarded with this lovely sunset - quite unexpectedly ....

After such a strange day I wasn't surprised to see the moon snagged in a tree.

Why Cry

the sun spills
blood red
across the sky
dying to live
living to die
you mourn the dawn
you curse the morrow
forget your scorn
forget your sorrow
I'll cry you a rainbow
dying to live
living to die
why cry

Sky Watch

These photos were taken in August the last month of summer 2010.  A beautiful rainbow stretching across the sky over the roof tops with the smell of rain and earth on the breeze

and a wood pigeon enjoying the view

The Haunting

haunting lullaby
the hand that rocks the cradle
the wind in the eaves

This photo was taken through the window of what used to be the servants quarters of a castle in Scotland. The castle has  been turned into an hotel and is a pretty scary place to spend the night!  Enlarge the photo to see the cradle properly it sent chills down my spine!

You Said...

the sun was shining in our eyes
you said 'everything will be alright you'll see'
we built castles in the sand until the tide came
and took them away
you said 'everything will  be ok'
we built castles in the sky until the sun set
at the end of the day
you said 'everything is gonna be alright'
we lay and watched the stars until the clouds came
and danced in the rain
you said 'everything will be alright'
Yet we knew nothing would be the same
