Halloween

Bonfires crackle
and cackle
at wandering ghouls
and a freak
children scream
and shriek
lured by treats
they take to the streets
going where they
couldn't, wouldn't
 shouldn't
shadows follow
filling every corner
and hollow
with fright
shadows unseen
on this night
of Halloween

Paint the Wind

Paint the wind
with dove grey wings
so I may snare
and cage it
before the trees
hear all the things
I told the wind
in secret

For secrets
cast long shadows
that don't melt
into the sun
and leaves
will fall
like burning
tears
before the fall
is done

What a windy day this was for the poor dove trying to eat berries

Well Fair Summer farewell

Quote by John Keats:- "i almost wish we were butterflies and lived but three summer days - three such days with you i could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain"

one word is a seed
from which many
could grow
thoughts spring
like weeds
from which i
could sow
wild rambling prose
or poems with
rhyme
but summer like
the rose
fades with time
