Bonfires crackle
and cackle
at wandering ghouls
and a freak
children scream
and shriek
lured by treats
they take to the streets
going where they
couldn't, wouldn't
shouldn't
shadows follow
filling every corner
and hollow
with fright
shadows unseen
on this night
