I, Dandelion

Avid gardeners cuss and frown upon me
Some eat my leaves, slightly bitter but tasty
Others dry my roots for a heart-warming tea
With flowers I welcome the cute honey bee
(So, there is more to me than the weed you see)
My colour is so yellow, beautiful and bright
I've been likened to a little kiss of light
I am no posh rose nor graceful daffodil
But I still look sweet upon a windowsill

Yellow Is The colour

Yellow flowers
greet
the rising sun
and
become
 one
with the waxing moon.
 Long
are the hours
of
the torrid afternoon.
 A little
torment
a little
pain
of passion
unspent.
Drenched
in rain
 a potent soul
makes me whole
again

The Colour Of Love

hearts have grown
cold as stone
forgotten is
the yellow
of the sun

turbulent waters
swirl and sweep
a vortex
of sorrow
too dark and
too deep
to reflect it

because love
remembers
the colour

the yellow of
the sun
will make
it's way
through the
greyest day
through dark
through sorrow

the yellow
of the sun
will rise
through the
cracks in
the stone

because love
remembers
the colour
by tomorrow
the yellow
of the sun
will have grown
