Last Night

Last night
you whispered,
I want you.
Your eyes,
passionate,
consumed me.
Your moist lips,
denying me
reprieve,
burned me.
Your touch
teased sighs
from my
yielding body.
Last night
I dreamed
of you.

There's Nothing Like....

There's Nothing Like... A Hug.. To make you feel all fuzzy inside! I was so moved by this little scene as it played out before my lens. I was photographing the sad little penguin when the other two waddled up and gave him a hug! Now isn't that sweet?

There's Nothing Like ......Eating Alfresco...
until the food gets fresh!

The Butterfly

Does she whisper
endearments
to the blushing blooms
as her velvet wings brush,
intimately touching, colours
of lilac and celadon?
Dancing cheek to cheek
does she make promises
she knows she won't keep?
And while sipping nectar
from willing calices
with honeyed tongue
do her lips kiss and caress
the alluring blossoms?
Or is it just the wind,
the gentle wisp of wind,
under her painted wings?

Innocence

Naive and childlike
Innocence slumbers
Without duplicity
Without illusion
Without disguise
Innocence sleeps
Behind the charade
Of smoke and mirrors
Sans guile or deception
Innocence lies dormant
Artless
Without the perception
Of light and shade
To confuse and
To complicate
Innocence slumbers
Amidst memories

Crossing Over

The day darkeners sing
Prayer beads click-click
A rhythmic requiem
in harmonic cadence
Gathering the gloom

On the ancient spirit shelf
Waning candles splutter
Shadows dither and waver
fragile fragments of the past
seeking refuge in the dark

Roused by the waxing moon
The Silent Knowing sighs
It is time for the crossing
The ultimate passage
To the river of heaven

Ashes to Ashes..

In the wake of dreams
The wind sings it's mournful song
to the full moon
veiled in it's dark mantle.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

The dismal dawn
rains grey upon the day
an apathetic sun
buries itself deeper in the sky
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

In sleep you draw me close
it feels like coming home
A smile away from tears
and I bury  all my fears
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

I dream of angels falling
falling from the sky
In wakeful dreams I ask, why
You had to play the wild card
letting love come between us
I bury myself in your warmth
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

A smile away
from tears veiling
unseeing eyes
I dream of angels
falling
falling
from the sky

The Owl

Silent wings
Hush the wind
Embrace the night
A haunting call
A ghostly flight
The seeker
The guide
Heed the voice
Of the spirit world

Shadow

cast a feral shadow
a miasma of illusion
a mirage of stray light
an innate sense of darkness
linked to primitive instincts
the spirit of the wolf

Reflections

you say I'm beautiful
as an angel in disguise
blinded by your affection
you don't see, don't realise
you don't see imperfection
but reflection never lies
and how I wish I could be
that woman that you see
I wish that I could see me
through your loving eyes

If

If I could steal the colours of dawn
Every shade of the morn and every hue
Of each beautiful new day that's born
I would my love give them all to you
If I could wrap dewdrops in rainbows
Every single twinkling drop of dew
On each tender petal of the rose
I would my love gift them all to you
The breath of air under eagle's wings
The smell of the earth after the rain
The first sweet song that a bird sings
The sands of the desert, every grain
I would give you all of these fine things
If I could my love just see you again
