The Gathering

I have seen the fog
roll in with the tide
the tiny footprints
ebbing waters did not hide
I have seen the encircling
The gathering
of wasted time
and spent tears
of broken hearts
and faiths lost
of broken promises
and forgotten dreams
I have seen
The gathering
of little treasures
I have seen
The Children
Of the Tide

Stoning the Ravens

Stoning the ravens
lest they steal her dreams
she casts her spirit to the wind
A beautiful melody of untruths
rises up into the sky
amidst the echoes of
cursing ravens
and raining stones

Spreading her wings
rising above her dreams
she picks her lovers
like luscious fruits
to silence the hunger
to feed her heart
with feral fantasies

without the sun's reflection
you are but a rock

Crane

Iron giraffe
in my backyard
Far from
your grassy plains
Graceful and slender
You're tethered
to cogs
In a concrete Savannah

Friends And Lovers

Friends and Lovers
I write this while your scent still lingers warm upon my skin
I watch you sleeping and wonder whose dreams you are in
I search for clever words to say, for memorable phrases to write
But the memory of our loving still glows in dawn's feint light

The whispers that fell on my pillow have risen with the dawn
And the kisses that tumbled from our lips are no longer warm
And all the while I wonder - is this the beginning or the end
If last night we were lovers - how could we still be friends
