Transient Rapture

impatiently
i wait for you to raise your innocent head
impulsively
i want to touch your silky skin, but instead,
tenderly
in my hand i cup your satin face, so fragile,
tentatively
i await your transition, so pure, so volatile
seductively
before my eager eyes you begin to undress
stunning me
your vulnerability leaving me breathless

  1. Somehow makes humans seem even more fragile than delicate lilies.

    Beautiful.

  2. You've captured the rapture well.

The Opening of an Orchid is like an unfolding of a Rose and though the orchid be sweetly fragrant, Rose in words the more.

  4. If only humans could show their vulnerability without fear of rejection. Maybe then we'd become as beautiful as this orchid :-)

  5. Ygraine,
Vulnerability is sadly exploited in most cases. So we are all dandelions:)

    Shauna,

  6. An orchid or any flower opens its 'face' to the world without expectation and is never disappointed, if only we could.

  7. Daniel,
That is the key I suppose. If our expectations aren't high we will not be disappointed.
