The Communion (Of Souls)

"For it was not into my ear you whispered but into my heart, It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul"                                                              Judy Garland
Your whispers
flutter inside
my heart
I drink deeply
from your lips
drenching
my soul
with
your kisses
Quenching
my thirst
Nurturing
my desire

Your loving
leaves me weak
with hunger
I devour
your ardour
savouring
each pleasure

With each
ecstasy
our souls
ascend
A communion
of essences
merging
becoming one
basking
in the afterglow
of our love

  4. A nice flowing continuation - or parallel - of your previous poem, full of passion and lyrical notes which touch the soul.
Hunger and thirst of love devouring lovers in a mystic union or better, soul communion.
Last time lovers reached climax; today ecstasy.
You are soaring higher and higher, Rose.
Most humans need to be caressed both in body and soul to feel different from animals.
Thanks for sharing your spiritual soaring.
    :)

  5. A beautiful take on the Garland verse and quite a depart from her poem but one could think that Judy felt this way before it slipped through her fingers.

  9. Dulcina,
Thank you! Dare I say it? It was my pleasure :D Humans need to find pleasure in everything they do or they won't bother doing it - go forth and procreate we were told - do you think we would have if there was no pleasure involved? No it would have been too much like a chore. animals are more obedient and godly creatures..
