There's An Elephant In The Room

There's an elephant
in the room
that needs talking about
But nobody wants to
start the conversation

Avoiding the situation
seems the best thing to do
Exchanging pleasantries
And everyone agrees
the weather is rough
this time of the year

There'll be time enough
tomorrow
to shed a sad tear
to wallow in sorrow
to bury their grief

But the elephant
still hides in the shadows
A silent thief

    1. I think at some stage of our lives we all grieve lost time and the loss of words when they may have mattered most :)

  4. Oh so sad...the grief...the avoidance...but the elephant never forgets!
I love the little joke at the end...was a great antidote to the sadness...:)

  5. It is sad that we would rather talk about the weather when there is so much else to say! Why do we always
avoid talking about sensitive issues? Time is never on our side :)
