The Sky Danced

Reflections
on a blue sky
recall
the long hot summers
We were so high
on love
swathed in the
mirth of the cicadas' song
as it rose and fell
and floated
all around us
in our hair
in our hearts
Under our feet
the sky danced
enchanted
by the mirth
of the cicadas' song
which reeled
in the blue
until the sky bled
Red flames
devoured the blue
tainted the hue
spewing the
silence of
darkness
all around us

  6. Superb image and words to match. It was the image grabbed me first, but the words that held me.

  7. What a delicate thread of words, dear Rose.
    I especially love these lines:

    ...until the sky bled
    Red flames
    devoured the blue
    tainted the hue...

You know, since I was a little girl I liked looking at the clouds.
Thanks for sharing so much beauty.
    :)

  8. Thank you Dulcina,
In London the sky is but a shy blue but it still stirs memories of the big blue sky I remember well :D
