No one Hears

everyone listens
but nobody hears
a cheek glistens
with silent tears
shouting won't make
a blind man see
crying won't ease
the misery

colours are fading
turning to grey
shadows are braiding
the last light of day
a monochrome halo
hangs in the sky
the scornful echo
of a seagulls cry

night keeps its vigil
so paint your dreams
amongst clouds dismal
a miracle gleams
night brings its silence
that deadens and deafens
night brings its own sentence
........nobody listens.......

  1. Yes it is sad that people don't really listen. I think children are the ones
that are least listened to these days, and that is a very sad thing. Children
are having to live their lives around their parents lives instead of it being the other way
    around.

  2. Exactly right. Very few hear and even fewer of those act.
I like the line "night brings its own sentence".

  6. Lovely, lovely words. I love the photo of the moon and friend. The last few days the moon has been just so beautiful hanging in the dark starlit night sky. Thanks for the visit to my blog. I don't really post on it very often anymore. My main blogs are Book Blogs. "Book Lust Journal" and Ann's Reading Corner" I more or less closed down most of my blogs. Anywho, thanks for the visit.

  10. How beautiful and how true, dear Rose!
I love all and every line in your poem, but these are my favs:
    shouting won't make
    a blind man see
    crying won't ease
    the misery

City noises don't let people listen to the birds.
City shop windows attract people more than flowers, trees or clouds.
Leave the crowd, the jams, the call from material things; rise your eyes, open your ears and you will discover all the wonders of Nature.
If children were educated properly so that they could enjoy all the free gifts the Lord gives us every day, life would be easier, simpler and much more beautiful.
    Thanks for sharing your words.
    A hug.
    :)
